So, pretty much everyone who knows me knows I sleep terribly. I have absolutely no problem falling asleep, but staying asleep? My brain is like ~ nope ~ and I spend the first few hours of my day in bed – stretching, snuggling Theodore, and basically watching the clock until it’s time to drag myself up and get to work.
A few years ago, I finally accepted my fate and developed a new routine to fill this time somewhat productively, and it’s been a game-changer! I’m talking about podcasts. I’m pretty picky about what I subscribe to so that every morning it’s not a tough choice to press play on my phone, so here are my top 10 podcasts that I learn something from with every single episode – whether it’s mindset shifts, actionable strategy bits, or lessons learned from some awesome women in the constantly shifting online space.

Hey Jessica
Listening to Jessica Stansberry is like listening to your bestie rave about a cute guy at the gym or a crazy sale at a store she knows you love. Systems Saved Me
You guys know I have been obsessed with streamlining operational and admin tasks for years – wait, deep breaths Alina, I can feel myself nerding out already. Jordan Gill is the queen of all things systems, and simplifying the seemingly complicated and making running a streamlined, organized, and strategic business totally accessible to even the most tech-averse. Jordan does a fantastic job of staying true to the concept of systems themselves by keeping the episodes fluff-free and to the point, and also interviews some really incredible entrepreneurs who have disrupted their industry and offer a fresh perspective on common scenarios, roadblocks, and opportunities.

Modern Mentor
As an entrepreneur, I sometimes find it hard to see my work as just that – work. I really love what I do and I am so 100% wrapped up in it for most of my life, that conversations in circles of friends with 9-5’s is sometimes weird. Like, working mostly alone at home… even the phrase “at work” when referring to my home office or any time during which I’m doing something related to the business (like, 80% of my life) is just bizarre. These quick episodes really help me to hop out of the entrepreneur space and remember that in order for me to love my “job” as much as possible, I need to create an awesome workplace experience for my best employee (me) and my boss (also me). If you occasionally get stuck in this Inception-style existential mental rabbit hole – give this show a whirl.

Ok – this one is probably my favorite on this entire list. It’s not exactly mindset – but kind of is! These chicks, Arabela and Elle, are hilarious product photographers who share horror stories of nightmare clients and truly bizarre interactions while sipping themed cocktails and really just laughing their asses off. It’s amazing, and the guests they have on are equally fun and dynamic. Everyone involved in this show, especially the hosts, is so insanely talented – and it’s just super comforting to know that even the highest-profile clients can display some ridiculous behavior and they always remind me how important contracts, boundaries, and professionalism are. I never miss an episode, or an opportunity to laugh, learn, and wonder wtf is wrong with people sometimes with these women who I am a mega fan of.
