After spending years running the back-end of 15+ businesses, both online and in-person, and in tons of different industries, I'm sharing what works, what doesn't, and how to streamline and automate your way to a strong, scalable, and profitable business that works for you, your lifestyle, and your biggest goals.
This is how it really went down: I graduated from high school at 16, promptly moved out, started college early, and graduated with my bachelors in Event Management at 21. I've been working since I was 15 and went through my undergraduate with a full class load, part-time jobs to pay the bills, and more unpaid internships than I can count to gain experience and find, through trying everything, what lit me up.
Coming to the conclusion that I never wanted to be labeled as one thing or another, through trial and seemingly unrelenting rejection, I decided I was destined to create my own J-O-B, so I did! Starting out as a VA (while not knowing that VAs were even a thing) was the beginning of my love story with entrepreneurship - I began working with some powerhouse business owners (for free) who had tons of great ideas and needed someone to implement who had an eye for design, technology as a second language, and the heart to care about their business just as much as they did.
After a few years, I saw major similarities in the struggles and systems of everyone I was serving and began to be able to contribute strategy pieces and consultative advice, so I re-dubbed myself as an OBM (online business manager). It became typical and expected for me to provide simplification and automation tactics immediately when I started with someone new, so that we could have space to expand on the fun and exciting ideas bouncing around in my client's heads to scale their businesses in an intentional way that felt good for everyone!
The public usually only sees the polished, breezy way some entrepreneurs seem to make big things happen, but rarely get the behind-the-scenes look, or hands-on involvement, that I have had the privilege of having in so many industries. The nature of my ever-evolving business has allowed me to bear inspired witness to the tears, the struggles, the anxieties, the celebrations, the big wins, the come-to-Jesus moments, the happy surprises, and everything in between when it comes to the entrepreneurial journey in it's rawest form and truest beauty.
Being the crutch for so many business owners for so many years, I've learned that online business is such a weird and wonderful place to dwell - we thrive on information and there are so many people willing to share anything and everything that sometimes it just becomes too much - and trust me - I too have fallen into analysis paralysis more times that I would like to admit.
But, I positioned myself early on to be the person that business owners lean on, and throughout the years, these same people know that if they have idea, they can pick up the phone to consult someone who knows - through trial, error, and success - what works, what doesn't, and why.
Now, I'm determined to save ambitious entrepreneurs from analysis paralysis, nightmare hires, and wasted time by sharing what I've already been through, and had my hands in, throughout my years of experience taking ideas from "shower thoughts" to money-makers and beyond.
Over the years, and through many mistakes, celebrations, frustrating moments, and happy surprises, I have developed a standard set of values that I embody in my business, and determine who I work with every single day.
